StarCrossed: Mark April 20 on Your Calendar for Manifestation Madness!
Missed manifesting during the new moon? You shouldn't have been doing so, anyway, with the solar eclipse affecting the energies of the Universe.
StarCrossed follows a hobby that keeps my passion for reading and research alive—astrology and astronomy. My love for the Universe goes beyond the spiritual and includes the scientific wonders of space.
The solar eclipse last April 8 must have messed up a lot of people’s ritual cycles because it's not advisable to manifest anything at all during the eclipse sandwich season. As a witch who leans heavily on lunar phases, I understand that the new moon is the best time to set intentions. It really is the ideal period to start the ripple effect—intentions—that will eventually build into the wave of your more extensive manifestation ritual during the full moon. But what do I know? I think of myself as a moon witch only because I’m not living near water or in a place where storms are typical.
This makes the upcoming Jupiter and Uranus conjunction in Taurus on April 20 all the more welcome. Manifestation madness! Let me explain.
What Is a Conjunction in Astrology?
Everyone’s birth chart has planetary aspects, and you can see these more clearly as lines if you view your chart as a 360-degree chart. There are five significant aspects to consider when interpreting your chart or astrological events: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions. For some of them, the angles are important. For example: In sextiles, the planets are about 60 degrees apart—which also corresponds to them being two zodiac signs apart. In squares, on the other hand, the planets are about 90 degrees apart—which corresponds to them being three zodiac signs apart.
In conjunctions, the planets are close together when you look up the sky and try to see them. They’re usually in the same sign—like this upcoming conjunction when Jupiter and Uranus will be in Taurus. Unlike sextiles, where planetary energies complement each other, or squares, where planetary energies may clash, planetary energies during conjunctions merge. Each planet amplifies the other.
Let’s pull back and make this easy to understand. A new moon is actually a conjunction of the sun and our moon. While they’re not planets, they’re cosmic elements that are also part of birth charts and astrological events. Their energies combine and amplify each other. That’s why it’s an excellent time for setting intentions! Not only does it mark the start of a new lunar cycle, but it’s also associated with new beginnings. The sun signifies your identity and individuality in birth charts, while the moon represents your inner world and intuition. However, the last new moon wasn’t ideal for setting intentions and working with manifestations because of the eclipse.
To fully understand what aspects mean in your chart and in general, you’ll need to learn what themes are connected to each planet or cosmic element. For example, Jupiter is considered the planet of growth and good fortune, while Pluto is regarded as the planet of profound death and psychological depth. Back in 2020, we experienced three Jupiter and Pluto conjunctions. Many astrologers point to those as predictive of the pandemic’s effect on the world.
What Is So Special About a Jupiter and Uranus Conjunction in Taurus?
I’ve been obsessed with astronomy and astrology during the past March. I know I’ve been talking a lot about it. And why not? We are now actually in the age of Aquarius! This Jupiter and Uranus conjunction happens on April 20, 2024, after a significant few weeks that include both the eclipse sandwich season and Mercury retrograde.
What’s Been Happening on Earth?
If Jupiter is considered the planet of growth and good fortune, what are the themes associated with Uranus? It is the planet of rebellion, innovation, and technology. The conjunction of these two planets in Taurus, an Earth sign, could literally be a sign of the Earth moving under our feet—and it did. On April 3, an earthquake was recorded in Taiwan, and on April 5, an earthquake was recorded on the East Coast of the United States. Both were the most powerful quakes to hit their respective areas in a long time.
Did you know that Jupiter and Uranus make contact every 14 years? But they haven’t met in Taurus since 1941. During that year, the United States finally got involved in World War 2 due to Japan attacking Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
What Is Happening in the Skies?
Let’s break it down. What really happens during this rare conjunction? First, let’s look at Jupiter. It’s been traveling through Taurus since May 2023, which may have affected your life and the world by shaking things up in grand ways. For example, you may have changed careers or gotten married. However, these changes didn’t come unchallenged—but any breakthroughs during this time will have a lasting impact on your life.
Now, let’s look at Uranus, who has traveled through Taurus for a long time since May 2018. While it will stay in Taurus until April 2026, Jupiter will leave Taurus soon after the conjunction happens. Because Uranus is a planet connected to defiance and uprising, a conjunction with Jupiter can be a time of revolution and massive changes. Technology may refashion how we live our lives, and global policies—particularly those reflecting economy, government, and foreign matters—may redefine society as we know it.
What Will Happen in Your Life?
You will need more than general knowledge of astrology to figure this out. Do you know where Taurus is in your birth chart? For example, if you have Taurus in your 6th house, you are probably consistent, pragmatic, and professional—which shows how you approach your career. You may have difficulty adjusting to new technologies or workflows, although you are always diligent and dependable. During this upcoming conjunction, expect more of those new technologies to possibly slow you down—but also consider taking a chance on a new career or professional development opportunity.
Take the chance, and don’t mind the rules during this conjunction! This configuration in the skies won’t happen again until 2037.
Why Should You Manifest on the 20th of April?
Together, Jupiter and Uranus's overall maximizing and changing theme seems to have a futuristic slant—perfect for manifestation rituals. Meditate on what you want and need in your life, at the very least. Make it a continuation of what you should have been doing throughout the eclipse sandwich season and Mercury retrograde.
The first quarter of 2024 has been about letting go of what no longer serves you, drawing healthy boundaries, and healing your childhood trauma. From now on, and particularly on the 20th, make 2024 about shaping what you want your life to be—rules and regulations be damned! What does your ideal life look like? Tell me all about it. Talk again soon.
