Mátulain is not just a series focusing on my poetry—instead, it follows my continuing love story with the art. Full disclosure: This is something I wrote on April 2, 2020.
Who I Am
I am my dead father’s daughter, my mother’s baby girl, my husband’s ride or die. I am a grief-paralyzed artist, a former people pleaser, a hesitant, whispered ”hi.” I am too afraid and too scared, too stagnant and too safe, too quiet and too shy. I am finding out who I am as I get this all out. ”Who am I?” I ask. Why?
